a close second

For the first few months of our engagement I was certain that I had settled on a color palette for the wedding. I felt like Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias when she would explain  "my colors are blush and bashful."  Well, my colors were "blush and gold." Not mauve, not pink, blush.  And not Las Vegas, bling-y gold, but a brushed gold.  I was getting very specific...and carried away.

After planning the wedding almost to the last detail I had an epiphany (or a stephiphany as I like to call them) and changed the colors altogether.  The new wedding colors suit G and I much better; I'll divulge more on that later.  But for now, let's take a glance at what could have been:

G and I are headed to Holland and Belgium!  I am excited beyond words.  I'll bring back some frites/mussels/waffles/chocolate for all of you and hopefully a post or two.  Tot ziens!

I opened my fall j.crew catalog last night and I immediately fell in love with just about everything. When Steph and I were kids, we'd bookmark and doodle on things in catalogs that we loved, things are no different these days -- I think I marked something on every single page. Here are some of my faves.

I think the number one rule for bloggers is supposed to be something like "consistency in the number/frequency of posts is key." If in fact that is rule #1, I'm failing miserably.

All of these wedding details have managed to cloud my mind.  So much to do!  So many amazing details to drool over on pinterest!  So many dresses!  I keep reminding myself that a stress free bride is a happy bride...a stress free bride is a happy bride...and repeat.

time for a new watch

I'm in the market for a new watch... my Michele has been good to me, but I think I'm ready for a new look. I continue to see this adorable tortoise Michael Kors watch on Pinterest and think it just might be the one.
